Marcus Sidonius Falx is a Roman of noble birth. After serving with distinction in the legions, he retired to manage his substantial country estates. He now divides his time between his properties in Campania and the province of Africa and his luxury villa on the Esquiline hill overlooking Rome. Along with his assistant, Dr. Jerry Toner of the University of Cambridge, he has authored two Roman self-help books including the 2014 book How to Manage Your Slaves, published in 2014. He now writes in Aeon Magazine to tell us how best to manage one’s family and be the model of patriarchy.
