Mental images can alter our bodies and push them to the limits. Art has always been important to philosophy scholar Anne Hennessey, and a Daoist print called Neijing tu (or the Chart of the Inner Warp) has earned the title of her most significant piece in the most unusual way. Over a decade after the birth of her firstborn child, she revisits the Daoist internal alchemy through this ancient artwork which helped her physiological and spiritual transformation and played a crucial role in her labour.
