Frames of consciousness
Can electrical impulses in the brain explain the stuff that dreams are made on? Perhaps a new consciousness-detector could offer some insight. Joel Frohlich, a postdoctoral researcher of Martin Monti's laboratory at the University of California in Los Angeles, writes in Aeon magazine about a "clever task that exploits the mental imagery that some otherwise unresponsive patients can generate on command", providing a new angle for scientists to detect consciousness.
