The dictionary has officially verified 'irregardless' as a word, hoping to write the final sentence in a debate that has haunted writers, scholars and journalists alike for more than two centuries. However, instead of calming things down, it seems the argument is now raging stronger than ever. Here, Poppy Noor hears the opinions of her divided Guardian colleagues on the matter.
