Learn from machine learning
Our world is a black box; predictable but not understandable. From identifying misinformation and hate speech on social media to steering vehicles on other planets, machine learning technology is already embedded in much of our everyday lives. But it comes with drawbacks. Not only does it learn from and understand our greatest minds, but it also takes on the most negative traits. Now that we've developed technology that can unravel the incomprehensible rules of our universe, David Weinberger explains how machine learning works, why it's essential to combat human-made problems like the climate crisis, and argues that this technology will challenge our understanding of the complexities of the universe.
