Activism in sports: over a century ago, suffragists lobbied for the vote at big-league ballparks. 2020 was marked not only by the coronavirus pandemic but also by a wave of activism around the world, spread across different causes. These protests have made society re-consider the role of massive events, such as in sport, in becoming functional platforms to amplify these voices and claims, but it wouldn't be the first time.
